In many ways, Mr. Noctem is a blank sheet of paper. A child. A dangerous child, but not completely bad. He stopped killing, per example, when somebody told him it was not a good thing to do. When something enrages him, he resurrects the undead (the more undead, the more enraged he is) and then a hint of the original chaos that was his original form can be appreciated.
