Personality

A Vampire’s personality frequently depends on their undead “age.” When a new Vamp first rises, he is dominated by his monstrous nature. Newly risen Vampires are often maniacal, raging beasts looking for their first kill. Most Vampires quickly remember their old Human personalities, but their lack of Human soul causes them to become callous and hostile toward Humanity. As such, even though they can pose as Humans, Vampires normally do not do so (except to lure victims for feeding) and prefer to mix only with their own kind, as opposed to living among mortals in a "masquerade" or running their affairs behind the scenes. As they continue on, they regain better control over their faculties, managing to go incognito as Humans in order to hunt more efficiently. A Vampire retains the memories of the corpse and often act like the person inadvertently.
Most importantly, a Vampire has no soul, which mainly has the effect of imparting no conscience or empathy to the Vampire. They are the ID unrestrained.
